If you aren’t satisfied with the 603bhp the AMG E63 S produces, the Brabus 900 is here with a 205mph top speed and sub-3 second 0-62mph time…
In order to produce a gargantuan 888bhp, the E63’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 has been heavily reworked, so much so that its capacity has been enlarged to 4.5-litres thanks to stroked and bored cylinders. New goodies also include specially made pistons, rods and crank, while two new Brabus turbos produce 1.4 bar for extra performance. To maximise results, there’s also a new exhaust, intake and of course a retuned ECU. Best of all? Brabus offers a 62,000-mile warranty for the 900, which means you can enjoy all 888bhp and 774lb ft of torque without worrying about the engine going bang and you being hellishly out of pocket…
Let’s get to those numbers. 0-62mph is said to come about in just 2.8 seconds, 0-124mph in under 10 seconds and it will then go onto crack 200mph, with a new limiter set at 205mph (replacing the factory 186mph limiter). The reason for the new limiter? The Brabus 900 uses Continental SportContact 6 tyres, which weren’t designed to sustain 200mph+ runs in a two tonne car.
While Brabus calls it a “wolf in sheep’s clothing”, there are some obvious giveaways that this E63 AMG is not as it seems. First of all, the Brabus 900 wears new carbon fibre exterior features that boost aerodynamic performance at high speed; those include a front and rear splitter and new side skirts. Oh, and those 21-inch wheels also give the game up, as is the 20mm suspension drop…
As with all Brabus products, customers can modify and customise to their heart’s content, just don’t expect all this work to come at a cheap price. The Brabus 900 is available to buy on its website for a staggering £270,072.95.
